Kerrin Land
Managing Director for Old Mutual Wealth

Kerrin joined Old Mutual Wealth in July 2015 as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and was appointed as Managing Director in August 2016. Her main objective is to ensure that anyone who chooses Old Mutual Wealth as their financial partner reaches their financial goals. To achieve this, Kerrin together with the Old Mutual Wealth team implement planning tools and industry leading solutions to assist financial planners in guiding their clients on their wealth journey. We cater for all clients’ wealth management needs and ensure a holistic financial planning process through our comprehensive range of capabilities, which include advice, fund management, estate planning, unit trusts and bespoke solutions.

Kerrin is a qualified actuary, seasoned strategist and investment professional. Prior to joining Old Mutual Wealth, she spent 20 years with Old Mutual Investment Group, and played a key role in developing of some of its most innovative offerings. She has held various technical and executive leadership roles within product development, listed investments, marketing, distribution and strategy areas. She played a significant role in transforming Old Mutual Asset Managers from a large single process investment house to a multi-boutique organisation. She has served as Head of the Listed Investment cluster of boutiques and also held the position of Director of Business Development, Leading Strategy, Operations, Marketing and Distribution, and new business initiatives into Africa.

Kerrin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cape Town and is a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa.

Stephan de Kock
Chief Operating Officer

Stephan de Kock was appointed as General Manager: Operations, Service and Technology with effect from 1 June 2018. He is responsible for the strategic direction, management and delivery of all aspects of operations, systems, and processes across Old Mutual Wealth, including implementation of our integrated service strategy.

Prior to this role, Stephan has been Chief Operating Officer for Old Mutual Multi-Managers. He started his career with Old Mutual and spent 15 years with the Group before expanding his knowledge and experience with Woolworths Financial Services (WFS), where he spent seven years working across various disciplines including marketing, analytics, operations and product management. Just prior to re-joining Old Mutual, he also served as Credit and Collections Executive for AFB Cards, a start-up consumer finance business operating in East Africa. He has a BCom Finance, an MBA (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University and has completed various executive programmes with local and international business schools.

Trevor Pascoe
Executive: Old Mutual Multi-Managers

Trevor is the Chief Executive Officer of the multi-management and asset consulting capability within Old Mutual Wealth.

Trevor joined SYm|mETRY Multi-Manager in July 2010 as Chief Executive Officer. Having started his career at Old Mutual within Retail Product Development over two decades ago, Trevor has since held several senior positions within the group. Most recently he was General Manager of Product Management, responsible for Investment Services corporate business with R109 billion in AUM, the Group Assurance business with over R1.6 billion in annual premium income, as well as building a very strong mandate management and asset liability management capability for the Old Mutual Life Assurance Company South Africa (OMLACSA).

Trevor’s previous responsibilities also included oversight of the Old Mutual Actuaries and Consultants business. Trevor has a BSc (Hons) and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, a member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa and he is a Health Insurance Associate. He is the Deputy Chairman of Pro-Active Health Solutions, a health risk management company. He is also a non-executive director of the Skandia Investment Group Holdings Limited.

Elize Botha
Managing Director: Old Mutual Unit Trusts

Elize Botha was appointed as Managing Director of Old Mutual Unit Trusts (OMUT) in November 2016. Her main objective is to ensure that the OMUT team assists retail investors to preserve and grow their investment portfolio. She will do this by partnering with Old Mutual Investment Group to ensure that we have a leading investment capability coupled with the highest standard of service and support. Her focus will be on growing our position as a market leader through OMUT’s comprehensive suite of unit trust funds.

In her previous role, Elize headed up the distribution strategy and execution function for Ashburton Investments, spanning local, international, retail and institutional channels. She has 19 years of experience in the financial services industry and has been involved in crafting strategies and leading various distribution teams at some of South Africa's largest financial institutions, including the FirstRand Group, Alexander Forbes, Momentum and Old Mutual.

Elize holds a BA in Law and an LLB degree, both from the University of Johannesburg. She also has a strategic leadership qualification from Insead.

Pieter Bester
Executive: Business Development

Pieter has been with Old Mutual Wealth since 1 December 2012 as a Business Development Executive. Pieter joined Old Mutual in 1990. During his tenure he held various management positions including Broker Marketing Manager, Investment Marketing and Financial Advisory Services Marketing Manager. From 1997 to 1999 he was the Marketing Director for Quattro Asset Management, thereafter returning to Old Mutual Investment Services (later rebranded Galaxy Portfolio Services) as National Marketing Manager. Pieter was appointed as the Head of Distribution of Fairbairn Capital in 2002. In 2004, he joined the Sanlam group as General Manager: Broker Distribution and also served as a director on the boards of I-Compli (Pty) Ltd, Succession Financial Planning (Pty) Ltd and Echelon Distribution Services (Pty) Ltd, all wholly owned subsidiary companies of Sanlam.

Mike Willis
Director: Finance Wealth

Mike started his career at Old Mutual fulfilling financial management roles in the Retail Affluent business. He joined Old Mutual in May 2000 as Investor Relations Manager: SA.

In 2013 Mike joined Old Mutual Wealth as Senior Financial Manager. Under Mike’s leadership, the Finance function has successfully evolved and he has been pivotal in integrating the many legal entities in our highly complex financial environment. In August 2015, Mike’s scope of responsibility was expanded to include the Governance portfolio.

Prior to joining Old Mutual, Michael was an auditor at Ernst & Young (Cape Town and London), Deloitte & Touche in Tortola and a market risk analyst at Credit Suisse Financial Product in London.

Michael is a qualified Chartered Accountant and member of the South African Institute for Chartered Accountants.

Abeeda Hendry
Executive: Marketing

As the Executive Head of Marketing for Old Mutual Wealth, Abeeda is responsible for the Wealth marketing and branding strategy to truly bring our client value proposition to life. Her main focus will be strengthening and positioning the Wealth brand in the marketplace. She gained extensive experience in business strategy and marketing in the areas of insurance, retail, asset management and banking over the past 15 years.

Abeeda joins us from Liberty Corporate, where she was the Head of Marketing and Communications. Prior to that, she was with Absa Bank and Sanlam Investment Management. She obtained her BA degree at the University of Cape Town (UCT), and then completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Management at UCT’s Graduate School of Business.

Abeeda oversees the following areas within Old Mutual Wealth:

  • Marketing and communications functions, including Investments and Digital Marketing
  • Brand, sponsorships and events, including client and distribution channel engagements
  • The Design Studio.

Nkulu Madonko
Executive: Human Resources

Nkululeko ‘Nkulu’ Madonko joined Old Mutual Wealth in October 2017 as Human Resources Executive.

Nkulu oversees the business areas of Transformation, Culture and Talent Management, and provides strategic direction and tactical implementation of the Human Resources Capital Strategy and People Plan to the Wealth team.

Before taking up this position, Nkulu was head of the HR team for Broker Distribution and Agency Franchise Distribution at Old Mutual Personal Finance, having first joined Old Mutual in August 2014 as a Senior Human Resources Business Partner. A Rhodes University graduate, Nkulu has over 20 years’ Human Resources Generalist experience, gained from organisations such as Unilever, Shell and Absa Barclays.

Nkulu is holds an Honours degree in Industrial Psychology and serves on the board of Astute and LifeMatters Foundation; a Non-Profit Organisation supporting disadvantaged and at-risk primary school learners.
